details
The route: is a challenging and scenic course (if you
watched 1997 Northumberland All Terrain Marathon it was the road
race course). From the east end of the village head west past
the green out of the village and across the river Tweed. Past
1m climbing steeply to the top of the Bank of Scotland both the
leading man and lady will take a prime prize. Continuing the
steady climb into Scotland past 2.5m turn left at the crossroads
to start an undulating downhill section past 3miles to the grand
gates of Ladykirk Estate and a refreshing half way drink. Accompanied
by bleating of sheep on level ground follow tracks through the
estate, past 4m and the great house. Exit through more grand
gates onto the road where another challenging climb awaits to
return you to the top of the Bank of Scotland and past 5m. A
hard descent back down the bank and over the Tweed into Norham.
At the village green sharp left and to the finish. Course
